Wow, I am just back from a wonderful trip to California, inspired by my love of that country and the rare opportunity to work with Margot Anand.
She has been in retreat for a few years in Bali. It was wonderful to spend time with this remarkable lady, and to see how committed she is to her own growth and journey though life. She is no longer a young woman and her journey through sexuality has led her back to tantra's roots in spiritual practice, which she shared with us.
I came away with a much greater understanding of the power of this work to connect us directly and intensely with our immortal nature, this was something I knew to be available but had never directly experienced.
Of course the key is meditation. I know in theory how good meditation is but during this week I became aware of what a really tremendous gift it is...if we are prepared to cultivate it.
When I am over my jet lag I shall share details of some of my insights.
Welcome to the first Tantra North newsletter
As the “Sexuality and the Chakras“ workshop is fast approaching, I thought this makes a good starting subject.
Some of you might have been wondering what Tantra has to do with a “flaky New Age concept like chakras” so I am going to attempt to explain why...
The chakra system is a major part of tantra. Chakras are part of the non-physical “energy” body. Although this non-physical energy reality has not been scientifically verified, this ancient concept allows us to make sense of experiences which otherwise would be perceived as strange if not mad. There is a load of esoteric stuff on the chakras on the internet so I am going to talk about an area less easy to find, how the chakras relate to our sexuality.
Here is a sexual journey through the chakras. Our workshop “sexuality and the chakras” goes is an excellent opportunity to experience some (more) of these for yourself.
launched Tantra North in 2005.
She is a qualified medical practitioner and life coach with a life time interest in the inter-relationship between stress and illness. In 1999 she wrote “The Complete Book of Energy Medicine “. Since this book was published her focus shifted away from illness and towards wellbeing. In 2001 she began her study of tantra with John Hawken (the Tantric Path) and Jan Day (School of Being).
"Simply put, the practice of Tantra is the exploration of the chakras."
